MIKARTA is a material manufactured from a combination of resins and fabrics subjected to pressure and heat.
We combine the technical properties of the fabrics used, aiming to create colourful and varied MIKARTAS.
Characteristics
With its composition, Mikarta guarantees maximum durability and high resistance, while allowing multiple combinations to achieve a wide range of colours and textures. Pressed at a temperature of 140°C, Mikarta is dishwasher safe and certified for food contact. We manufacture different types of Mikarta depending on the fabrics used: LINEN MIKARTA, SPECIAL MIKARTA, JUTE MIKARTA and CANVAS MIKARTA.
Composition
60% thermosetting resins and 40% cotton, canvas or jute fabric.
Thicknesses: from 1.5 mm to 45 mm.
Specific weight: 1.45–1.55 g/cm³.
Heat resistance: Special Mikarta 210°C (2 hours).
Dimensional change: Special Mikarta less than 0.01 mm after 250 cycles.
Certified Material
Fabric Mikartas are certified in accordance with UNE-EN 10/2011 and its amendments 2016/1416 and 2017/752.
In addition, Special Mikarta has food contact certification and dishwasher resistance certification granted by the IDR.
